The season of Halloween is upon us! Now would be a great time to start planning out and booking that Halloween tattoo! There are many themes, ideas and styles that our artists can help you with, even if you come in without a clear concept of what you want. They can help formulate something for you and plan out a great Halloween tattoo!

HERE ARE A FEW HALLOWEEN CONCEPTS TO GET YOU STARTED

  • A Halloween tattoo doesn’t have to be spooky or scary, you can get something that is reminiscent of fall. Such as, a fall forest scene. Maybe a cornucopia spilling out candy. You could reference Thanksgiving even. A beautiful fall woodland scene with perhaps and elk hidden amongst the mist.
  • You could get an image or reference to a famous horror movie. Jason’s, Michael Meyers’s or Hannibal Lecter’s iconic masks. A well known weapon like Freddy’s glove or a chainsaw like in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” Slashes from Freddy’s glove.
  • Get a classic monster movie image, like Bela Lugosi’s “Dracula” or Lon Chaney as the “Phantom of the Opera.” A great sleeve tattoo could be a fantastic mashup of all the classics, in black and grey. Imagine Dracula, Frankenstein’s monster, the Mummy, the Wolfman, the Creature From The Black Lagoon and so on, with a hint of background to blend all together. It would take some time, but oh so worth it!
  • A black and grey graveyard scene. A Full arm or leg wrap-around would look awesome. Picture mist weaving between the headstones, a raven perched atop a Celtic cross headstone, gnarled and dead trees accenting the background, a shovel embedded into the ground indicating a freshly covered grave.
  • A bold and striking dark art piece. The creepy girl climbing out of the TV in “The Ring” comes to mind. Or go old school and get Linda Blair from “The Exorcist.” The film industry has such a rich history to draw from for a beautifully striking dark art piece.
  • Cryptids are another great source of subject matter that can manifest into some fantastic tattoo work. Cryptids are creatures and beings from lore and legend, usually confined to small geographical locations. For example, you have the Mothman out of Point Pleasant West Virginia, or the alien-esqe creature known as the Flatwoods Monster, also out of West Virgina. Then, of course, there’s the different variations of the Bigfoot legend. Bigfoot, Yeti, Skunkape and so on. There are many names to this very similar cryptic legend. Let’s not forget some of the darker beings such as the Wendigo and Slenderman.
  • If you are really macabre, people sometimes get serial killer tattoos. We’re not endorsing serial killers nor celebrating them here at all, but people do get those tattooed.
  • You can’t go wrong with a “Nightmare Before Christmas” tattoo and there are so many possibilities. Tim Burton created a gigantic pallet to draw from. Jack and Sally embracing on the classic curled hill. Oogie Boogie in a dancing pose with little worms spilling from his seams. A silhouette of Lock, Shock and Barrel or maybe just their masks. Zero sliding amongst the spooky trees. The possibilities are endless.
  • You could go cute. A chubby little smiling spider. A not so spooky classic “sheet” ghost. Halloween characters from “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” Perhaps even a fuzzy howling baby werewolf.
  • A great night sky scene with a full moon.
  • A Halloween pumpkin or jack-o-lantern.

As you can see, there are many possibilities to what you can come up with for a Halloween tattoo, and there are so many more out there that weren’t mentioned.
