Pineapple and Rob Have Availability for You and Your Loved One!

What is the best way to go about booking a tattoo for you and a friend? The first step for getting any tattoo is to know what you want. Here at Lucky Bamboo Tattoo each of our artists has their own hourly rate. We get all the details about the tattoo. We bring those details to the artists and discuss. The artist tells me how much time it will take. And at that time, we can multiply the time needed by the artist’s hourly to determine the quote for pricing.

There are a few ways to go about providing details. We have the option to book a consultation. This way you can sit down with the artist, of your choosing, and talk about your ideas and even show images to clarify what you have in mind. This is a great way to make sure you and your artist are on the same page.

Now, if you are absolutely sure about what you want, we may bypass the consultation and move you one step closer to booking your tattoo. What are the details one should provide? Those details start with what the tattoo or image is.  The next portion is to determine the size. Now this one can be tricky. The best way to determine the size is to use a standard ruler and measure the area. But not everyone has a ruler in their home.  In this case, we can use a comparison to a common everyday object. My favorite is using a dollar bill. A dollar bill is 6 inches by 2 inches. Now the size absolutely matters. The size can alter how much time they need to complete the piece. The next detail would be where it’s going on your body. Keep in mind that some areas take longer to tattoo than others. Why is this? This is because some areas, such as the ribs, will stretch out to a much bigger size. And it will need to be tattooed bigger so when you relax the skin, it is at the desired size. The next factor is if the tattoo is black and grey or full color. Adding color, dimension, and depth will take a bit longer in most pieces. The final bit of information we would like, is the artistic style. Is it old-school American Traditional? Is it realistic? how realistic? Does it look like a photograph, or does it look like a very realistic drawing? Now, not everyone knows the different tattooing styles immediately. And references may be helpful in some scenarios.

Say, that you know you want a half sleeve, you want it black and grey, and you like what the artist does and would like them to create something totally new for you. This is a great way for our artists to shine and show you what they do best, creating beautiful and unique art.

So, what is the best way to go about booking yourself along your family and friends? Take some time and let them know what sorts of details they should decide on. And when everyone is ready, reach out to the shop. Our friendly staff will work on getting you that quote and find time for all of you to come in together and make some memories that will last a lifetime.
